You will need a broadband Ethernet router. A switch, a hub, or an ADSL router will not work. If our system detects multiple MAC addresses attempting to connect through a single connection, your connection will be cut off for all computers, and you will have to call Bosco Connect to have it re-established.
Set up the Internet connection on a single computer first, using the instructions available here.
Once the connection is established, disconnect this computer, plug the broadband router into the jack point in the wall using a tested Ethernet cable, and connect all other computers you wish to use to the broadband router. Follow the same instructions as were used above for setting up the Internet on each individual computer. They should all connect if you have the correct router.
If none of the computers work, try with a single computer into the wall jack point once more. If this works one part of your hardware – router or one of your cables – is faulty. If it doesn’t work you may be attempting to use a switch or a hub, and you may need to call Bosco Connect to get your connection restarted.
Each additional computer you connect to the same Internet connection will lower the speed of your connection.
In the field where the dialled number is entered, add the digits &quo;19&quo; before this number. You do not need to add a comma or a space before this, just add it directly before the number you would usually dial. For example, if you are attempting to dial 123 4567, the number in the dial field should be 191234567.
You have messages waiting on your voicemail service. Look at the top of this page for the Telephone User Guide and follow the instructions to retrieve the message.
If you are using peer to peer download programs such as LimeWire or BitTorrent your download speed is dependent on the speed at which the person you are downloading from can upload data. Before calling us to report slow download speeds, please check your speed at Speedtest.net and run one of the tests available there. This will help us diagnose your problem.
Please make sure that you are using the correct adapter. The sockets on the wall of your apartment and on the splitter are RJ-45. Most telephones use BT or RJ-11 plugs. You can get both RJ-45 to RJ-11 and BT to RJ-45 adaptoers from a home electronics store such as Dick Smith Electronics.
You must use a splitter if you wish to use the Internet and the phone from the same wall jack point. You should have been given one of these when your Internet was installed. If you do not have one, they can be purchased from a home electronics store such as Dick Smith Electronics.
